A WhatsApp Business catalog is a storefront inside your business profile: your products with photo, price and description, one tap away from the chat. You create it for free in the WhatsApp Business app, under Business tools → Catalog, and share it with a link. Done right, it saves you from answering "price?" twenty times a day.
What is a WhatsApp Business catalog?
It's a list of products or services that lives in your business profile. Customers can browse it without leaving the chat and send you the item they want. It holds up to 500 items, which you can group into collections.
It's only available in the WhatsApp Business app, which is free and separate from regular WhatsApp.
How do you create the catalog?
- Open WhatsApp Business. On Android, tap the three dots (⋮); on iPhone, go to Settings.
- Go to Business tools → Catalog.
- Tap Add new item.
- Upload the product photos.
- Add a name, price, description and, optionally, a link and an item code.
- Save. WhatsApp reviews each item before it shows.
- Once you have several, group them into collections.
Menu names shift a little between versions, but the catalog always sits under business tools.
What should each product include?
- A name people search for: "Chocolate cake for 12" instead of "Delight No. 3".
- A price, always. If it varies, use "from" and say what it depends on. See how to calculate your selling price.
- A description that answers questions: sizes, flavors or colors, delivery time and shipping.
- Real photos in natural light on a clean background.
How do you share the catalog?
Your catalog has its own link, in the form wa.me/c/ followed by your number with country code. Find it on the catalog screen under the share button. Put it in your Instagram bio, in your WhatsApp status, and in a saved quick reply so you can send it with a shortcut.
Can customers pay through the catalog?
In most countries, no: the customer picks, sends it to you, and you close the payment outside WhatsApp with a transfer or a payment link. Confirm the total with shipping and the delivery date in writing before you charge.
Mistakes that stop people from ordering
- Products with no price, or "ask for price".
- Dark, blurry or stolen photos.
- Sold-out items still listed.
- Having a catalog and never telling anyone where it is.
When you outgrow it, with many variants, different shipping costs or card payments at checkout, it's time for an online store. See our web design plans.

Wrapping up
