To make a landing page in Canva, start from a Website design, build one section per page (hero, benefits, services, proof, pricing, contact), link your buttons, check the mobile preview and publish from the editor. On the free plan it goes live on a .canva.site address; you can also buy a domain or, on paid plans, connect your own.

The steps below follow Canva's own help center for publishing, domains and mobile.

Is Canva good for a landing page?

For a single page that explains your offer and sends people to book, buy or message you, yes. You design visually, publish in a few clicks and can start on a free domain. Where it falls short: online stores with a cart and inventory, blogs with lots of posts, and fine-grained SEO control. For those, a different tool or a custom site fits better.

What sections should a Canva landing page have?

  1. Hero: what you offer, who it's for, one button.
  2. Benefits or the problems you solve.
  3. Services or products with prices or "from" prices.
  4. How it works in three steps.
  5. Testimonials from real clients.
  6. FAQ.
  7. Contact with the same button as the hero.

Each one is covered in landing page sections that sell, and the hero in depth in anatomy of a hero that converts.

Start from a finished landing page The Solara Kit (USD 35) gives you a Canva landing page for desktop and mobile with 3 heroes, services, testimonials, pricing, FAQ and contact, plus an HTML version for your own hosting.

Step 1: choose a Website design

Canva can publish most design types as a website, but per its help center, designs that aren't Website designs (a presentation, for example) open in presenter view like a slideshow. For a scrolling page, start from a Website template or resize your design to the website format.

Avoid the mobile website and Link in Bio templates if you want your own domain: Canva publishes those only to a canva.link address.

Step 2: build the hero, then one page per section

In a Website design, each page becomes a section of the same scrolling page. Start with the hero: a headline that says what you do and for whom, a line about the result, and one button. Then add a page for each section above. Keep the same colors and fonts throughout and leave breathing room between blocks.

Step 3: link every button

Select a button or text and use the link option in the toolbar to add the URL. For WhatsApp, use a link with a prefilled message, like https://wa.me/1XXXXXXXXXX?text=Hi,%20I'd%20like%20more%20info. For email, use mailto:. Click every link in the published site before you share it.

Step 4: check the mobile view

Canva's mobile preview updates as you edit, and elements that sit side by side on desktop may stack on a phone. Check that text isn't tiny, buttons are easy to tap and the hero makes sense without scrolling. In the website settings, turn on Resize on mobile to optimize the site for phones.

Step 5: set up the site settings

Before publishing you can set the site title and favicon, write the description search engines show, add password protection, choose search visibility and adjust the social media preview. From the Publish panel you can also connect Google Analytics and add a cookie consent banner.

Step 6: publish and pick a domain

Select Publish website in the editor (for other design types, go through Share and choose Website). You then pick one of three options:

  • Free Canva domain (.canva.site): good for testing. Canva Free users can have up to five live sites on it, and free sites show a "Designed with Canva" footer that only Canva Pro removes.
  • Buy a domain through Canva.
  • Connect a domain you already own with a DNS setup. Canva's help lists this for Pro, Teams and Education users.

You can keep editing after the site is live; changes show up when you republish. Free-plan details are in publishing websites to a free domain.

Before you share the link, run through the most common small business website mistakes.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. Canva Free lets you publish to a free Canva domain, with up to five live sites. Free sites show a "Designed with Canva" footer that you can only remove on Canva Pro.

You can buy a domain through Canva or connect one you already own by setting up DNS. Canva's help center lists connecting an existing domain for Pro, Teams and Education users.

Designs that aren't Website designs, such as presentations, publish in presenter view. Resize the design to the website format, or start from a Website template, to get a scrolling page.

The simplest route is linking your buttons to WhatsApp, email or a form tool you already use. If you need a store with a cart, a blog or advanced SEO, a custom-built site is a better fit.
